As part of Wimbledon Space’s ACTS RE-ACTS 4: Performance Laboratory, 3 – 4 March, at Wimbledon College of Art, Amanda Couch will be performing A Woman Holding a Liver 2016/17 on Saturday 4 March at 1pm, in the Studio Theatre.
A Woman Holding a Liver is a contemporary manifestation of the ancient ritual of haruspicy or liver divination. The piece for ‘Acts Re-Acts 4’ will be in two parts: the first, an introduction to the history of liver divination, and the contextualisation of divination in relation to chance strategies in art, and then a divination of a lamb’s liver.
There will also be an exhibition to accompany the laboratory, 12 monoprints from The Liver Models series 2016/17 will be shown. The exhibition will be on show from 20 Feb – 17 March 2017 in the Foyer space.
Acts Re-Acts, a laboratory of performance, new media, workshops, lectures, discussions, events, interventions, seminars and installations, returns for a fourth year to take place at Wimbledon Space between 20 February – 17 March 2017. This year Acts Re-Acts will take the form of an intensive two-day laboratory of selected performances on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 March.
